Throughout the years, the Gates Rubber Company has played
a key role in the creation and development of high quality
products. It all started back in 1917, when John Gates invented
the V-belt, now essential to most industrial power transmission
applications. In 1946, Gates developed the first synchronous
belt to synchronise the needle and bobbin movement of the
Singer sewing machine. These inventions signaled the start
of continuous development of top quality belts, which have
kept Gates at the leading edge of power transmission technology.
Through
an ongoing programme of development of new belt products and
improvement of existing belts in anticipation of industry's
requirements, the Gates Power Transmission Division offers
a complete range of premium products. This range includes
V-belts, V-ribbed belts, synchronous belts, tensioners, pulleys,
and complete drive systems.
|
Belt Type |
Advantages |
|
Hi-Power
MN |
Excellent
performance/cost ratio - Reliability and efficiency
- Long belt life - All belts matched tolerances by Gates
UNISET tolerances |
Super
HC/Super
HC MN |
Ribbed
belts mean more power in same space or same power in
1/3-1/3 less space - cost and space saving with reduced
pulley size - matched Gates UNISET tolerances |
Quad-Power
II |
Most
performant belt in Gates industrial range - increased
transmission efficiency - excellent performance/cost
ration |
PowerBand |
High
stability/smooth running - savings in drive space and
weight thanks to high transmission efficiency - important
design economies possible |
|
Micro-V |
Extremely
smooth running - very high power capacity per rib -
long life thanks to extra load carrying capacity - improved
performance on back idlers - smaller drive package |
PolyFlex |
Design
freedom and space savings which are not possible with
conventional rubber belts - low maintenance costs as
belts need less retensioning - long life on compact
drives |
Multi-Speed |
Maximum
range of speed changes - high load carrying capacity
- smooth machine operation - exceptionally long belt
life |
Truflex/Power
Rated |
Extremely
flexible - smooth/quiet - economical drives - smooth
clutching and disengaging - special shock resistance
- special crack and bending resistance |
|
PowerGrip
XL,L.H,XH |
Positive
slip proof engagement - constant angular velocity -
low bearing load due to freedom of high tension - compact
design - wide range of load capacities & speed ratios |
Mini-Pitch
MXL |
Highly
suitable for stepping motors - accurate positioning
- very stable - allows small pulley diameters (down
to 6mm) with max number of teeth in mesh |
PowerGrip
HTD |
25%
improved tooth jump resistance - long service life and
maintenance free - the optimised tooth form permits
high loads to be transmitted, even in small pitches |
|
PowerGrip
GT |
Substantially
increased power rating - reduced noise levels - positioning
accuracy - compact drives and less weight |
Long
Length |
High
power transmission with sophisticated materials and
tooth design - low noise drives - easy to attach with
clamping fixtures - no environmental pollution due to
lubricants |
Twin
Power |
Can
transmit 100% of its maximum rated load from either
side of the belt or it can transmit a load on both sides
provided the sum of the loads does not exceed the maximum
capacity |
Synchro-Power |
Load
capacities from 0.5kW to 30kW - up to 40,000 rpm - speeds
up to 75m/s - fixed centre distances possible - minimum
elongation - long service life |
Poly
Chain GT |
Eliminates
maintenance and noise problems with chain drives- long
service life (up to 5 times longer than chain drives)
- temperature ranges from -54C to +85C |
